Three feet of earth

There are so many things that we can't live without. Just ask some person now and the list starts with a large number of electronic gadgets. Are they really the things u cant live without ??
We are so ignorant about our selves that we really don't know what we need to live!! It is only accidental that some one realizes the importance of few things which the nature has given us in abundance. I am no different. Soil is one such thing no one will ever mention it in his list.
Three feet of earth that is what is must for us to live. Amazingly we may find it half short even to die!! The incident so happened, I was traveling in Rajasthan in a train few miles from the city of Kota. the train enters the vast plains of stone. In the first sight you will love it. the unending chasm spread all around you. No sign of soil up to the horizons. So amazed with the beauty i was, i tried to fill it all in my eyes. Suddenly i realized the lifelessness of the beauty. It was the moment when all the beauty i had expected from the plains turned to fear still beautiful but frightening. Suddenly it strikes me that if it rains there was so much stone over there that there will be a flood. Next moment the thought becomes reality and it starts to rain. Just in a short shower water fills the potholes. Amazingly the rain stops as suddenly as it appeared. the train passed by the skeleton remains of cattle. I wondered if ti was killed by the lack of water or by the flash flood.

Then to my surprise even in such dead landscape the nature has spread its coat where ever possible even in the smallest cracks in the stone bed there were one or two trees and shrubs standing tall in the rocky plains, creating a spectacular view. As the train rushed through the rocky plains it passed through few villages. Just like the nature these people had made the plains lively wherever they found "three feet soil" surprisingly what they found enough to live is just half short to die!

With a salute to their desire to live who have incorporated the natures message so beautifully and saw glory even through the smallest peep hole. I moved to the planes of Madhya Pradesh where soil is so abundant that we often hate it!!
